Celebrate The New Year With Kids At Any Hour With Netflix

New Years Eve

My four year old is ECSTATIC for the New Year and I’m not exaggerating in the least. I’m not entirely sure why a child who uses cartoon episodes as a unit to measure time is incredibly excited about a New Year but I know I love her enthusiasm. As much as I love to give into her whimsical enthusiasm I don’t want to keep her awake until the final count down to midnight. And apparently I’m not alone.

According to a recent survey from Netflix, a third of parents (34%) admitted they either had or planned to start the party early and fool their kids into thinking its midnight long before the ball drops.

I was considering moving all of our clocks ahead a few hours (ha) but Netflix has a better idea.

Thank to a little help from King Julien from All Hail King Julien, parents can play a special kid-friendly countdown on Netflix that lets the kiddos celebrate the New Year before midnight! It’s a short, hilarious three minute clip that the kiddos will love.

KJN NYE

If you haven’t checked it out yet, All Hail King Julien premiered on Netflix earlier this month. My preschooler loves it. If you don’t remember King Julien was the (sometimes) sweet king Lemur from Madagascar. Now he is shaking his booty harder than ever in the wild of Madagascar while he runs his kingdom along with his loyal sidekicks Maurice and Mort plus a whole new cast of colorful animals. In one of our favorite episodes King Julien learns that 99% of the lemurs love him, so he makes it his mission to find and convert his one “hater.”

A few other fun holiday titles for kids..
