#Giveaway: Two AWESOMELY GROSS books by National Geographic Kids Books!

2 Flares 2 Flares ×

My son LOVES animals, absolutely anything and everything having to do with them. He is only 2, but one of his favorite things to do is to look through animal books and learn as many new ones as he can. I am always floored at his memory and how he can tell the difference between a Hammerhead, Nurse, Leopard and Great White shark. Most adults wouldn’t know these! Being an animal lover myself, I am always happy to encourage his infatuation and I enjoy learning along with him.

I was recently contacted about two new National Geographic Kids Books coming out this fall – 5,000 Awesome Facts (About Everything!) and That’s Gross: Icky Facts That Will Test Your Gross-Out Factor. Even though these two fact-filled books are geared towards the older 8 – 12 year olds crowd, Whistler totally loves and gets a kick out of looking through them with me.

5,000 Awesome Facts (About Everything!)

This book has so many fun and interesting facts on really just about anything you could imagine.  There are some sweet facts about chocolate, a dozen yummy details about peanut butter on a page that has splotches of jelly on it.  Then, as you go further into the book there is a shark telling details about himself.  There are also tips on toys and games, and interesting facts on history, robots, reptiles, sports, spies, and wacky words.  There are lots of great vivid photographs intertwined within the fun information of this book.  5,000 Awesome Facts (About Everything!) was truly designed to entice even the most casual of readers.

That’s Gross:  Icky Facts that Will Test Your Gross-Out Factor

You need to have a strong stomach to read this book!  It contains the slimiest, smelliest and stickiest topics you can think of and is full of rotten facts.  Each chapter is packed with repulsive information and pictures, which would make any child, say “That’s Gross!”  They can explore the world of barf, bugs, and boogers within the confines of lively and humorous writing.  Kids will be so enthralled with this book that they will not even realize how much it is teaching them!  This book will definitely bring out the “eww” factor in kids.

I’m a huge proponent of buying books for birthday and holiday gifts – and I can highly recommend these two as I think everyone would enjoy receiving them, adults included! The best part about these is that they are National Geographic Kids Books, and they really have mastered the art of making learning fun.  Their formula is simple:  fascinating, high-interest topics; amazing photographs and graphics; and a kid-friendly design (just don’t tell your kids how much they are actually learning about science, history, the animal kingdom and the human body!).

Do you already have kids in mind that cannot get enough factual information?  How about the kids who just thrives to see the ickiest of icks?

5,000 Awesome Facts (About Everything!) and That’s Gross:  Icky Facts that Will Test Your Gross-Out Factor are currently available for purchase on Amazon!
