Gardening is such a rewarding experience. There is just something about getting your hands dirty and making something beautiful grow because of hard work and care that brings so much satisfaction. However, when you first starting out gardening can be slightly overwhelming. Which flowers to buy, when to plant them, which grow best together, do they need full shade, partial shade or direct sunlight? What can really boggle the mind are fertilizers and plant food.

Organic Plant Food

That is, unless you know about Whitney Farms. They provide a full line of 100% natural, organic plant food and soils with no additives, nothing artificial, just ingredients already found in the earth. When you think about it – it makes SO much sense, right? Does your plant come with instructions for engineered chemicals to help it grow? No – Sunlight, Soil and Water. So why would we use plant food and soil that contains chemicals?

Because I've been traveling for the past 7 week straight, my vegetable and flower gardens were looking pretty dismal :( As luck would have it, our first free weekend home just happened to be Mother's Day and I just "happened" to want to go buy some new plants.

Lucky for me, Ben also just "happened" to have forgotten to buy me a present…so…tada! Happy Mother's Day to me!

Whitney Farms® does more than just feed your plants. Their plant food and organic soil contains beneficial microbes and protein-based blends to provide plants with both macro and micronutrients they need to give big, beautiful flowers and veggies! They were kind enough to send me 2 samples of their plant food and I was super excited to get right to work.

I spent all day Saturday and Sunday working in the yard. Our neighbor drove by and said "you shouldn't be working today!" and I simply replied, "but this isn't really "work"! :) It was such a big project that of course, I didn't get it ALL done before my back quit on me (geez, I hate getting old!) but this is what I did get accomplished: Before and After :)

I can't wait to see the results after a few weeks of love and care :) If you guys also "happened" to have gotten flowers or plants for Mother's Day and want to try Whitney Farms for yourself, they have a $3 off printable coupon :) Enjoy!
