Safety 1st

SafetyHaving three young children in my home has been far more challenging than I ever anticipated. The longer I go as a parent the more I realize how stressful and nerve wracking caring for small children can be.  Sure there are stresses like changing diapers, scheduling conflicts, and soothing tantrums, but what stresses me out the most is the day-to-day challenge of keeping my kids safe! You would think that after having one child the second and third would be easier, that our home would be a completely child-safe environment, but I am constantly amazed at the mischief my youngest child gets into and the close-calls we experience on what seems like a daily basis. Don’t let those innocent eyes deceive you, she’s a troublemaker!

I know many of you are going through a similar stage of life. Whether you have lots of children in your home, are expecting your first, or plan to start a family in the future, we can all benefit from learning simple ways to keep our homes safe for babies and children. This is why we are partnering with Safety 1st, an industry leader in creating safer environments for children, to bring you a new series on Baby / Child Safety.

Each month we will cover a new topic on anything from baby-proofing your home to car safety, water safety, and dozens of other topics. During the month we will bring you tips, product reviews, and helpful ideas to help you implement the safety precautions and ideas we address in to your home and lifestyle.

We hope you will enjoy this series and that we can help provide the kind of informative and innovative information that will help you assist you in your continual effort to keep your family safe.

Look out for our first topic coming later in January: Childproofing Your Home. We can’t wait!  Be sure to leave a comment and let us know if there are any specific issues or questions you’d like for us to cover!

About Kristi

I began blogging three years ago as an alternative to pulling out my hair when my third child came along before the second was sleeping through the night. Now, with time for hobbies of the non-diaper-changing variety, I continue to love writing and have developed a passion for cooking as well as a love for unleashing my inner dancer each week at Zumba.
