Having three young children in my home has been far more challenging than I ever anticipated. The longer I go as a parent the more I realize how stressful and nerve wracking caring for small children can be. Sure there are stresses like changing diapers, scheduling conflicts, and soothing tantrums, but what stresses me out the most is the day-to-day challenge of keeping my kids safe! You would think that after having one child the second and third would be easier, that our home would be a completely child-safe environment, but I am constantly amazed at the mischief my youngest child gets into and the close-calls we experience on what seems like a daily basis. Don’t let those innocent eyes deceive you, she’s a troublemaker!
I know many of you are going through a similar stage of life. Whether you have lots of children in your home, are expecting your first, or plan to start a family in the future, we can all benefit from learning simple ways to keep our homes safe for babies and children. This is why we are partnering with Safety 1st, an industry leader in creating safer environments for children, to bring you a new series on Baby / Child Safety.
