{Recipe} Salted Caramel Mocha

Salty and Sweet. For me it all started when I wanted a topping for my vanilla ice cream but my cupboards were bare, save a bag of pretzels. I was disappointed, until I took my first bite. And so began my love affair with dynamic duo of salty + sweet.

With the nights get longer and colder, it’s time to break out one of my favorite wintertime treats – hot chocolate. I love hot chocolate in all of its varieties, but this decadent salted caramel hot chocolate is one of my favorites. It tastes much how I envision the famous chocolate served on the Polar Express, “as thick and rich as melted chocolate bars.”

*TIP* If you are looking for a similar flavor, but an easier, less decadent version, just try adding the Torani Salted Caramel Syrup to your favorite hot chocolate mix! Just add 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) per serving!

Cocoa “as thick and rich as melted chocolate bars.”
Ingredients
  • 2 cups milk or cream (or a combination of both)
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons of Torani Salted Caramel Syrup (more or less depending on preference)
Instructions
  1. In a sauce pan or small pot heat half (1 cup) of the milk and the chopped chocolates. Continue heating and whisk in the remaining milk and Torani syrup, continue whisking until the entire mixture is warmed through and smooth in texture.
  2. Serve with a little whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel and a sprinkle of sea salt!
