Shutterfly Holiday Cards

Christmas is my favorite time of the year! Absolute favorite! Now with that being said, its the week after Thanksgiving and I’m not prepared for the holidays. We still need to:

  • buy a tree (has to be a real tree in our house)
  • get Christmas tree lights, unbreakable ornaments, a tree stand, tree skirt
  • get gifts for the kids
  • make holiday cards for the family.

But there’s one small problem, we don’t have a family photo of all four of us. Well, we do, but it was taken last Christmas so that won’t work.

And really with so much to do and the clock racing, I was planning on skipping the holiday cards altogether this year. Because those cards we get from family and friends with everyone looking so happy, so well dressed and so beautiful – take a whole lot of work!

First, you have to find the perfect outfits for the kids and then co-ordinate them with ours, then we have to find someone to take a photo, or a few hundred to get the “one” you’ll actually want to use and then you have to choose the holiday cards and order them. As I said, I was planning on skipping them – but after spending some time on Shutterfly looking at their selection of holiday cards, I’m wondering if our photographer can squeeze us in.

There are hundreds of designs to choose from, so the next question is, which one would fit us best? Shutterfly holiday cards really offer something for everyone from a retro vintage feel to modern bright colors, stationery cards and photo cards in a variety of shapes, sizes and layouts.

I really like the Rustic Gallery. It stands out from the rest, you can use four photos on the front and include another family photo on the back with your greeting!  If we are going to send cards then I want to send something that fits our family and is unique so that it doesn’t just get lost with the other cards. So I also really like the Very Good Year Christmas Card. The layout works perfectly for us, we can use a family photo and a photo of each of the kids and write a little bit about our year. We can write our update once and its printed on the card, now that will save me some time!

Oh and speaking of saving time you can also order thank you cards and address labels from Shutterfly. They’ve got you covered when its time to write Aunt Sally and thank her for the fruit cake she sent! I like these red and green address labels for the holiday season! Plus, they even have thank you cards that coordinate with your holiday cards, now that’s cool!

PSST!! Holiday cards are up to 40% off now at Shutterfly plus get FREE shipping on orders of $30 or more.

*Thank you to Shutterfly for providing me with 25 free Holiday cards. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

I’ve always wanted to make holiday cards! I may do it next year. They always turn out so cute. We haven’t had a Christmas tree in our house for years now. I hate taking it all down lol.
