I just read in my latest (free) issue of BabyTalk magazine that Albertson’s will make you a free 8″ birthday cake for your tot’s 1st birthday! (also known as a Smash Cake). No purchase required!
*If you don’t have an Albertson’s near you, other chains like Publix and Safeway will give you a free smash cake when you purchase a larger cake. Just ask the bakery section of your local grocery store. This is a common “unadvertised” deal!

Also if u ask at Wal Mart they will do it too.. i'm not sure if u have to purchase one but they will give u a smller cake if asked.. just tell them its there 1st birthday.
Giant Food stores does this also.
