MATERIALS
• 860-124 Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn: Toffee
1 Ball (A)
• 861-100 Lion Brand Vanna’s Glamour: Diamond
1 Ball (B)
• 861-113 Lion Brand Vanna’s Glamour: Ruby Red
1 Ball (C)
• Lion Brand Crochet Hook – Size G-6
• Lion Brand Stitch Markers
• Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6)
• Additional Materials
2 plastic safety eyes, 6 mm diameter
Fiberfill stuffing
Small amount pink yarn
GAUGE: Exact gauge is not important to this project
STITCH EXPLANATION: sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a
loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.
NOTES:
1. Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.
2. B and C are worked with 2 strands held tog. Wind B and C into 2 balls before beg.
GINGERBREAD MAN
HEAD AND BODY
Beg at top of head, with A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sts.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 24 sts.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around – 30 sts.
Rnds 6-11: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 12: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around – 24 sts.
Rnd 13: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 18 sts. Following package directions, attach safety
eyes. Begin stuffing piece, continuing to stuff as work progresses.
Rnd 14: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 15: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 24 sts.
Rnds 16-23: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 24: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnd 25: *Sc2tog, sc in next st, rep from * around – 12 sts.
Rnd 26: *Sc2tog, rep from * around – 6 sts. Cut yarn, leaving a long end. Thread end into blunt needle and gather
sts tightly tog. Fasten off.
ARMS AND LEGS (make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sts.
Rnd 3: Sc in each sc around. Change to 2 strands of B.
Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around. Change to A.
Rnds 5-7: Sc in each sc around, stuffing as work progresses.
Rnd 8: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, sc2tog, rep from * around – 8 sts. Fasten off.
BUTTONS (make 2)
With 2 strands of C held tog, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 4 sc in first ch. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Sew Arms and Legs to body. Sew Buttons to chest. With C, embroider straight st smile. With pink yarn, embroider
French knot cheeks. Tie a length of B around neck for bowtie. Weave in ends.
