Scrapbooking Saturday: Happy Halloween!

0 Flares 0 Flares ×

Hi all!

Well, it’s almost Halloween and that means more pictures to scrapbook! YAY! I actually just recently scrapbooked last year’s Halloween pictures that I had professionally taken at The Picture People. These are some of my favorite pictures that I’ve had taken there. I wanted to share that layout with you to give you some picture ideas as well as layout ideas. As usual, my layout is pretty simple, but I love the way it turned out. Remember, it’s all about getting pictures onto pages first, then adding all the extras you want afterwards. :)

For this layout I used:

2- sheets of 12×12 paper

Spider Web ribbon

Spider ribbon

1- Purple Flower

2- Halloween Brads

Orange and silver chip board letters

1- Jack-o-lantern sticker

black paper for mats

white paper for mat

Last week I told you about that killer pack of paper that I bought from Hobby Lobby with all the premium paper in it. Well, for this layout, I used two purple sheets of linen paper that has purple velvet polka dots. (I love using purple as a Halloween color to mix in with the orange and black)

** Remember to always check the clearance section of your craft store to see if you can score some scrapbooking deals. I don’t believe in paying full price for most SB supplies!**

Along with the paper, I decided to use the letters that I also used in last week’s “Boo” layout. They are the letters that I got in a pack from Big Lots for only $2!

The brads and sticker came from the $1 section of Target. (They have themed paper, brads and stickers that are really cute. Halloween’s out right now, then they’ll have Fall/Thanksgiving followed by Christmas.)

On this page, I used a fabric flower that has a small hole in the center. I just tied a knot in the ribbon and put it thru the flower and “hung” the ribbon from the jack-o-lantern sticker. I added the brands and matted two of the pictures. I didn’t want to do too much on this page because the pictures are so great! I think that adding too many embellishments can distract from the pictures.

On this page I layered the spider ribbon on top of the spider web ribbon. I love the way it looks! Then I decided to add my girls’ names on the side in the orange chip board letters. I love putting their names on my scrapbook pages, I don’t know why. It makes the pages even more personalized, I think. All I did was mat the pictures, put down the ribbons and add the names. That’s all!

I would LOVE to see some of your Halloween pages! Please feel free to send them to me at and I’ll share them with our readers! I would love to do a Scrapbooking Saturday edition with a bunch of layouts from all of you! Sharing ideas and tips & tricks about scrapbooking is what it’s all about!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween! Take lots of pictures!!! Until next week….
