Classic Red Stripe Ruffle Blanket by Caden Lane
When Katy from Caden Lane contacted me about their beautiful Nursery Products and Sweepstakes, I jumped at the chance to review one of their blankets. I have to admit, I spent quite a bit of time browsing the site – not only do they have so many different items to offer, but each design is so stinkin cute that I had a really hard time figuring out which blanket I wanted to try out!
I finally decided on the Classic Red Stripe Ruffle Blanket because I liked the color scheme and I thought Whistler might enjoy the silky smooth ruffle edging. Now, I’ve come across really gorgeous nursery blankets and baby items in the past – but never considered purchasing any because they were just “too fancy” and not really for everyday use – kind of like the look-but-don’t-touch-just-for-show-bathroom-hand-towels. You know, the material looks great but its rough or scratchy or there are just too many embellishments, or its too small or whatnot.
Peek a Boo!
Judging by the sheer beauty of the items I saw on Caden Lane, I thought for sure this would have to be the case with their stuff. But when the blanket arrived, I was pleasantly surprised! It is definitely a high quality, you gotta look twice blanket – no doubt about it. But its also absolutely great for everyday use! A soft cotton side (the stripes) is sewn to a dreamy ultra soft “fur/felt” side and trimmed with a chocolate silk ruffle. It measures 43″ x 34″ which is really a great size that will not be “grown out of” quickly. While it arrived a bit stiff (just like when you buy new cotton sheets from the store), it washed very well in our standard front load washer/dryer and came out just soft as can be. The furry side does not appear to shed and is just a dream to snuggle in.
I gave it to Whistler and he immediately began rubbing the silk edging and playing peek-a-boo with me with it. He actually put an edge in his mouth and tried to drag it around the living room with him. It was really cute.
Blankie Love
So I picked him up and put him in his glider with it. He happily sat there touching and feeling it for a good 10-15 minutes. He just loved the bright colored stripes and really loved the way it felt in his hands. I could not be more pleased with this blanket and I am sure he’ll carry it with him for many years to come :)

These are by far the most original and adorable blankets, crib bedding, bibs, towels, diaper bags, shopping cart covers (and so may more items) I have ever seen! I am super excited to have one of the new Gabe bedding sets reserved for me…well, for Whistler :) Although I just might have to crawl in there with him – it looks sooooo incredible! (It’s the one with the monkey and tree in the picture). I think it will go great in the nursery I just finished painting – what do you think?
