Remember that little teeny tiny weekend project I’ve had for the past few months? You know, the one where we bought our first little love shack and have dived … or belly flopped rather, straight into a complete floor to ceiling remodel? We literally ripped out every single interior wall and 75% of the exterior walls, every window, the flooring, the kitchen, the bath, the ceilings – you name it. We stripped it down to just a shell square box and have begun rebuilding it. Our little beach cottage :)
And of course, you all well know that I don’t buy ANYTHING at full price and I do A LOT of research on how to get the best deal on EVERYTHING we buy. So since we’re buying everything to fill this house (yes, even the kitchen sink!), I’ve really done my homework on what to buy where.
Now, many of us know (and all of you *should know* by now!!!) that there are really really great deals to be had online – especially with your major purchases. It has also been my experience that you can almost ALWAYS find a coupon for free shipping or some sort of discount to add on to your order as well.
So in my searching for faucets, sinks, bathtubs, etc there was one site that kept coming up on top of all my price comparisons. That site was VintageTub.com. So much more than the name would suggest, VintageTub.com has everything you could need for your Bathroom, Kitchen and even some Home & Garden items too!
What I did was basically browse countless sites and selected the faucets, sinks and bathtub we wanted. I then performed searches for each of these exact items to find out where they were sold and for how much. On every item, VintageTub.com came out to be in the top 3! Not only on their pricing alone, but the fact that they offer FREE Shipping in US AND Canada!!! They also offer No Sales Tax for some states!! This alone saves you quite a bit of money..for me, it’s almost 10%. PLUS they have special coupon codes that will take 10% or 12% off your entire order too!
The largest purchase we are making for the bathroom is the tub. I’ve *always* wanted a clawfoot and since we are sticking to a beach cottage theme, it will go perfectly! If you happen to be looking for a clawfoot tub, this is THE place to get it. Just check out their special package pricing on clawfoot tubs – these are CRAZY good prices. I can tell you that these prices beat out what I found everywhere else by HUNDREDS of dollars. Most places sell the tub only for this price – not the entire package with all the hardware too!
Of course, when making any major purchase online, its a little scary. Shelling out that much money to someone you’ve never seen or done business with before.
One phone call to their customer service or order line calmed any/all of my fears. I spoke with Mimi the first time I called and she was just a wealth of information! She knew everything right off the top of her head and was just very knowledgeable. She was able to answer every question I had and even help me to make some decisions on having to make some adjustments to one of the tub packages I was looking at. The second time I called back, I spoke with Matt – who was just as nice and great!
So, I went ahead and placed an order for a cast iron clawfoot tub and will update you when it arrives! I’ll give you the full run-down of the entire order process and installation :) Some before and after pics too!
