With the 4th of July coming up this weekend I’m sure if your like me that you’re in holiday overload, so many things to do and get before your big celebration. But don’t worry you don’t have to spend a ton of money on party decorations you can just make them yourself and even get your kids to help out and make it into a fun project for the whole family.

The Food

Since you still have a bazillion things left to do I have found some great ideas for you to make your celebration great whether it’s a party for a big crowd or just your family, it’s sure to be a hit. You can find these super cute Chocolate Dipped Rice Crispy Popsicles over at Twig and Thistle. They’re an easy treat to make and it’s on a stick, perfect no sticky fingers.

Patriotic Strawberries

These are sure to be a hit and with only three ingredients; strawberries, chocolate and sprinkles. You can find the recipe for Red-White-And-Blue Strawberries over at Baking Bites. Your kids can make them and have a great time helping, just watch out, they’re so delicious they might all get eaten before the party.

Ice Cube Stars

Everyone will be talking about your stars, not the ones in the sky, they’re in your cup! You can find the recipe for Stars In Ice over at The Paper Pony. The only thing that I would change is I would use different flavors of Kool Aid instead of colored water, we made these as kids and they were delicious.

Next up, Decorations!

A great way to display some party essentials and put you in the holiday mood, a Napkin Holder that looks like little fireworks, too cute. You can find out how to make this Fireworks Napkin and Utencil Holder at Kaboose. Hint! it’s made with paper Towel Rolls everyone has these at home.

Luminaries

Patriotic Flip Flops

Now it’s time to decorate you, these cute little flip flops top off any outfit and are the perfect way to show your patriotic spirit. You can find out how to make these Patriotic Flip Flops over at Homemade Mamas. Just grab a couple pairs of flip Flops and some ribbon at the Dollar Store for you and the kids and you’re set.

Garland Headbands

While You’re at the Dollar Store be sure to grab some Metallic Garland to make a cute hair piece for you and the kids. You can find the instructions for this 4th of July Hair Clip over at Sugar Bee. You could even use some to make a little matching bracelet by just wrapping it around your wrist.

Now with all of your Party Planning done there’s only one thing left to do, set back grab tall glass of Sweet Iced Tea and relax, remember it’s a celebration it should be fun not overwhelming!

  2. These are some fun ideas! Thanks for featuring my stars. I only used water for the white ice cubes. The red ones were Crystal Light and the blue ones Hawaiian Punch. The clear liquid was Sierra Mist. You’re right, it would be fun to experiment with different flavors!
